City of Light

In the “City of Light,” the long-standing Kwong Ming Pawn Shop, a neighborhood fixture for decades, is famed for its owner, Uncle Kin, who possesses an extraordinary gift for discerning real jewels and treasures from counterfeits at a glance. He shared a profound, familial bond with the orphaned Kwan Ling and her younger brother Kwan Chun, treating them and their housekeeper as his own, even acting as a devoted caregiver. This cherished closeness, however, abruptly fractured when circumstances turned sour, leading to their separation. Years later, as the pawn shop confronts daunting business and financial crises, Ling and Chun unexpectedly re-emerge. Their sudden reappearance and the subsequent encounters among them are poised to bring both positive and negative consequences, leaving the ultimate path of their relationships and the shop’s future entirely unpredictable.
