The Palace Gambit

The Palace Gambit thrusts two sisters, one exquisitely beautiful and the other quick-witted and charming, into the perilous world of the imperial court. Initially desiring only a peaceful existence, they are swiftly drawn into deadly schemes, finding themselves constant targets. Forging an indomitable alliance, they astutely navigate the court’s intricate politics and win the Emperor’s favor within a few short months.

However, their ascent reaches a tragic climax when the elder sister, pregnant with the imperial heir, meets a sudden, devastating end. Overnight, their hard-won favor vanishes, leaving the younger sister, Lu Jiuning, stripped of her position and reduced to a humble palace maid. Burying her profound grief and burning hatred, Lu Jiuning embarks on a meticulous quest for revenge. From her lowly status, she fearlessly challenges the entire harem, masterfully maneuvering among the consorts and boldly confronting the Emperor. Her battle is no longer for favor, but for blood, as she executes her carefully laid plans to avenge her sister’s tragic fate.
